Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) Information

MOS 15B - Aircraft Powerplant Repairer

This MOS performs maintenance on aircraft turbine engines and components... and that's no small challenge. To do this, the Army will train you how the turbine engine operates and how to troubleshoot the problems that may develop. You will train to repair individual engine components and assemblies, as well as use a variety of tools and equipment, including a borescope for internal engine inspections.

MOS 15D - Aircraft Powertrain Repairer

Soldiers in this MOS work on the powertrain to repair the components that transmit the engine's power through the drivetrain to the rotor assemblies. To do this, the Army will train you to identify components of the powertrain system and to remove, disassemble, and repair them. You will train to inspect the powertrain for wear and physical damage and to replace parts in need of repair.

MOS 15F - Aircraft Electrician

As an aircraft electrician, the Army will train you to remove and install electrical elements of assemblies and components and to use test equipment to troubleshoot for defects that could cause malfunctions.

MOS 15G - Aircraft Structural Repairer

Soldiers in this MOS are responsible for assessing and repairing damage to the structures of Army aircraft and rotor blades. These structures may include rigid, metal frames as well as composite structures.

MOS 15H - Aircraft Pneudraulics Repairer

Soldiers in this MOS maintain the pneudraulic systems that link aircraft controls and operating components. Pneudraulics includes the hydraulic systems that transmit fluid pressure to operate vital components that control the aircraft, as well as pneumatic systems, which supply emergency pressure to hydraulically operated components and provide air cushoning in components designed to absorb shock.

MOS 15N - Avionics Mechanic

In the heat of a mission, communication and navigation can be the difference between life or death. Soldiers in this MOS will train in radio theory and basic concepts of radio operation to repair communication, navigation, and flight control systems.

MOS 15R - AH-64 Attack Helicopter Repairer

As a member of the Apache maintenance team, your job will be to repair and maintain the world's most advanced attack helicopter. You will learn to use common and special tools to troubleshoot malfunctions and to remove, repair, or replace aircraft components. You will also be trained to perform periodic and routine daily inspections and maintenance tasks.

MOS 15T - UH-60 Helicopter Repairer

The Blackhawk is designed to move troops and cargo in tactical Army resupply missions, as well as for medical evacuations. Soldiers in this MOS are members of the maintenance team that repair and maintain these important aircraft and help ensure they are ready for action.

MOS 15U - Medium Helicopter Repairer

The CH-47 Chinook helicopter is one of the key means of transporting personnel, equipment, and supplies wherever they may be needed. In this MOS, you will be a member of a helicopter maintenance team that helps maintain the workhorse of Army aviation.

MOS 15Y - AH-64D Armament/Electrical/Avionics Repairer

Soldiers in this MOS are responsible to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctions in the AH-64D armament, electrical, and avionics systems and components, to include the electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneudraulic systems associated with the AH-64D armament/missile fire control systems.
